The Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based manufacturer developed the attachment through field collaboration with mulching contractors and land management professionals. Available in open drum and depth control configurations, the Pro X2 incorporates design changes aimed at improving efficiency, durability and operator control.
"Every element comes straight from real operators who know what works, what doesn't, and what it takes to get the job done right," said Nate Cleveringa, vice president of engineering and product management at Diamond Mowers.
Cost Reduction Through Tooth Technology
The depth control model includes Diamond's Edge Hardened Steel Teeth as standard equipment, featuring taller paddles designed to process more material per pass. The open drum version comes with Twin Maul Carbide Teeth for heavy ground engagement applications. Both platforms accommodate mixed tooth configurations.
Diamond Mowers also announced reduced pricing across its mulching teeth product line to support the Pro X2's cost-of-ownership claims.
Ken Foster of Foster's Forestry Mulching & Excavation in Dahlonega, Georgia, reported a 25% productivity increase with the new attachment. "It's got way more suction than the previous model, and the 'chipper teeth' are incredibly durable," Foster said.
Design Updates Target Operator Needs
The Pro X2's motor-high profile positions components closer to the carrier, improving weight distribution and machine balance. Diamond minimized motor cover height and reconfigured hose routing to enhance operator sightlines. The company offers multiple hose lengths to match different carrier specifications, addressing common issues with hose snagging and coupler disconnection.
Optional features include an upgraded braking system for faster rotor shutdown, removable covers for maintenance access and standardized half-inch bolts throughout the attachment. Drums can be removed without detaching shafts, and liner replacements don't require drum removal.
"The brake stopping the rotor so quickly is also an absolute game-changer," said David Buehler of Bobcat of Atlanta, noting the attachment's improved serviceability features.
Diamond Mowers offers a free tooth kit with qualifying Pro X2 purchases through authorized dealers for a limited time. The promotion includes Edge Hardened Steel Teeth for depth control models or Twin Maul Carbide Teeth for open drum configurations.
