Miller Electric Mfg. LLC has introduced a new line of hydraulically driven all-in-one power units for work trucks. The HDI™ 265 and 325 Air Pak™ models are now available for preorder, with shipments expected to begin in mid-Q2 2025.
Designed for service truck applications, the HDI Air Pak series combines multiple functions into a single platform, including air compression, welding, auxiliary power, and battery support. The system is intended to reduce equipment footprint and vehicle weight, helping fleet operators streamline installations and improve efficiency. According to the company, the units can save up to 400 pounds and reduce overall equipment size by more than half compared to traditional separate components.
Key Capabilities
- Compressed Air: Rotary-screw compressors provide either 40 or 60 CFM at 100% duty cycle for consistent air supply on the jobsite.
- Battery Support: Charging capability up to 150 amps for 12V and 24V systems, and up to 300 amps for crank assist.
- Power Generation: A 7,000-watt generator powers jobsite tools and lighting.
- Welding Output: The 265 and 325 models deliver up to 265 or 325 amps at 100% duty cycle, supporting processes such as DC Stick, MIG (including aluminum), Flux-Cored, DC TIG, and Air Carbon Arc cutting and gouging.
- Control System: A unified digital interface manages welding, air, and battery functions, while Auto-Set™ technology assists with welding parameter selection.
- Remote Operation: Modular remote panels offer flexible mounting and operation from safer or more convenient locations on the truck or jobsite.
- Service Access: Tool-free panels provide easier access for maintenance, and CAN bus integration enables fleet diagnostics and maintenance alerts.
- Noise Considerations: The system is engineered for quieter performance to support better jobsite conditions.
With its hydraulically driven configuration and multi-function integration, the HDI Air Pak series targets operators seeking to simplify truck builds, reduce maintenance complexity, and maximize onboard utility within limited space.
