KOBELCO Construction Machinery's SK350 crawler excavator worked in downtown Manhattan, just in front of the Freedom Tower, demolishing temporary pedestrian walkways that were erected following 9/11 to allow foot traffic to safely cross the West Side Highway while underground tunnels were rebuilt and restored. The SK350 pictured was decorated to honor our troops at a trade show, then purchased by Robert H. Finke and Sons of Selkirk, NY, which put it into their expansive equipment rental fleet. Tully Construction Co. rented the machine to complete this work.
