ALEXANDRIA, VA - The International Federation-Washington (IRF-Washington) announces the creation of a road safety working group to combat the growing epidemic of road fatalities and injuries on roads around the world.
The new Road Safety Working Group will bring together experts and key decision makers from around the world to exchange ideas, opinions and information in order to develop IRF-Washington policy on pressing road safety issues. This all-inclusive approach will ensure that IRF policy statements on road safety are a sound, diverse representation of the worldwide road building community. The policy statements will serve as the foundation of Washington's advocacy efforts to inform governments and citizens around the world of road safety measures, policies and behaviors that will help save lives and reduce injuries.
"Members of the new IRF-Washington Road Safety Working Group will be able to effect real change," said Patrick Sankey, CEO & Director General, IRF-Washington. "This group will have an attentive audience with top-level government decision makers who are ready to listen and willing to implement progressive road safety policies."
Michael Dreznes, vice president of sales and marketing, Barrier Systems, Inc., has been selected as the chairman of the IRF-Washington Road Safety Working Group. Dreznes has nearly 30 years experience in the roadside safety applications industry and has trained road authorities in the proper application of roadway safety products and the development of local and national safety programs all over the world.
The IRF-Washington Road Safety Working Group is open to all IRF members who have an interest in road safety. To join the working group, please contact Mike Dreznes at mdreznes@barriersystemsinc.com. Additional information can be found at www.irfnews.org/advocacy/road-safety.
